Helene Norton-Russell is a professional photographer, activist, wife and mother based in the Metro-Boston area of Massachusetts. Given her first camera at age seven, Helene turned her creative passion into a profession. She received her Master’s and Bachelor’s from Boston College where she majored in Sociology.
Helene’s goal is to celebrate real women rather than the airbrushed caricatures that are often depicted in mainstream media. Helene studied at the New England School of Photography while working as an apprentice for Stephanie C. Olsen.
In addition to her wedding and portrait photography seen on this site, she has worked with companies such as J.Jill, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Emotional Armor. Her work has been featured in The Boston Globe, as well as local and international publications.
Committed to women's health issues, Helene has also worked extensively with organizations dedicated to the prevention of violence against women, including; V-Day, the Victim Rights Law Center, the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, REACH Beyond Domestic Violence and the Pace University Women's Justice Center.
